The San Marco Palace is a charming residence that has recently open in 1999, and has already made a good reputation for itself. The hotel is small and only has room for a limited number of guests and in this way the visitors receive much individual attention by the staff. The San Marco palace is elegantly decorated and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere, just perfect for a romantic Venetian getaway. The staff is available to assist the guests in anyway possible, offering discrete private service.

Somewhat confusing check -in and management/concierge spheres of responsibility . grateful for the room upgrade but remained quite uncertain as to which hotel we were actually staying at- i.e. " the palace" the royal " or " the residence " .

Great hotel right next to st marks square. our roof terrace was fantastic - view over the rooftops and of st marks campanile. huge suite. shower was a bit poor, breakfast was average and in a cramped room. overall a great hotel in a fantastic location - highly recommended.

The hotel was overall very comfortable and pleasant. the rooms were very clean and good quality towels and linen were provided. the only real downside was the breakfast. the breakfast room was small, crowded and unpleasant. if the hotel was to break the breakfast up into guest preferred sitting times this could be avoided.

We arrived on new year's eve and were not told that we should arrange for boots due to the high water levels. when we asked for help on this the woman at the front desk was less than helpful and just told us they had no boots even though other hotels were providing their guests with temporary plastic boots. breakfast the next morning was a disater-there was very little food left, no coffee, very crowded, tables not cleaned off and it was very hot in the breakfast room. for the price we paid we were very disappointed with the level of service.

Le petit déjeuner n'est pas à la hauteur d'un 4 étoiles et le capuccino -spécialité italienne - dix fois moins bon que sur l'autoroute : un comble en italie !

The breakfast room was too small for the ammount of people living on the hotel and there was not enough staff. praise to the staff who endured the pressure from the guests!
