My wife and I found this property to be perfect for our 1 night pre cruise stay. The reviews that I had read prior to booking were very accurate. The property was exceptionally clean, very quiet, and had very convenient and economical access from the airport and to the cruise terminal. It was close to a water bus terminal with access to the Grand Canal and was not too far from the center of Venice to walk if desired. Access to the property from the bus terminal requires walking over 1 bridge but that could probably be said for most hotels not located directly on a canal. We were able to easily walk to the People Mover which took us to the cruise terminal for 1 euro. Considering that we had never been to Venice and had no first hand knowledge prior to this trip we were very satisfied with the Allogio Marinella and would certainly stay there again if we return to Venice. After seeing the crowds in other areas this was a quiet refuge.

A very nice property in a quiet area but close to transportation. It seemed expensive but I believe well in line with prices in Venice and perhaps better than most.

Great location and excellent service! The room was more like a studio apartment with a nice little private backyard. Walking distance to all major transportation; the majority of major sites; restaurants; and small grocery stores when we just wanted to stay in at night and have a light dinner and bottle of wine. The neighborhood / sistere (Santa Croce)is laid back and quiet at night. We have traveled many times throughout Italy and have stayed at Hostels, Hotels and Pensiones. This was one of our favorites. The owners and staff are very friendly, helpful, and nice. We would stay again and recommend it highly.

We were pleased with the Marinella but our room was directly off the dining room which made it a bit noisy and somewhat uncomfortable to come and go from when people were present - either for breakfast or after hours. Although the location was very good for our bus transfer from Treviso we found it very difficult to locate since the address listed was not the street on which it was located and no one could help us based on the map I printed off from the web site. Breakfast was a disappointment!

We stayed here April 29 and 30 before our cruise. We took the bus for 3 euros each from the airport to Piazza Roma and walked 5 minutes to Alloggi Marinella. The owner, gave us a great map of Venice, along with taking the time to map out our route for the day. The court yard was so private for breakfast, room was spotless and very quiet. The morning of the cruise we walked the 5 minutes back to Piazza Roma to catch the cruiseline shuttle to the ship. If ever in Venice again, Alloggi Marinella is where we would stay!!

Helpful staff, quiet neighborhood, and proximity to Piazzale Roma, cruise lines, and Train station a definite plus

Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. Location was excellent, though not in city center. It was 1 block to the bus and water transportation,1/2 mile to the cruise port and with lots of shops and restaurants. Being away from the center had advantages of being less crowded, less pricey and more "local" in feel. Being about 1/2 hour walk to city center allowed for great exploration of neighborhoods.
My only real suggestions for improvement are, one, improve the breakfast selections, and, two, increase the on site staff hours. They are on site only about 10 hours per day. They provide an emergency only number if their assistance is needed. But, for example, we ran out out of toilet paper....is that an emergency? These couple items should not keep you from staying there as they provided great value for the price and transportation options to get around the city and to/from airport and cruise ships is very good.

The hotel is close to the trainstation and the bus station (Piazzale Roma). So, you will need 5-10 minutes to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly. At the beginning they marked some tips for restaurants and interesting areas on the map.
To the Piazza San Marco you need 20-40 minutes. Depends how fast you walk and how often you ran into a blind alley ;-)
The breakfast is very italian... sweet and sparse choices.

It was our second stay there, this time in mid-summer. Again it was excellent - good location for exploring Venice, very friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. The only really "average" aspect is the breakfast. We can highly recommend this hotel and we will be there for sure in next year.

My only complaint is about the telephone service. I could not dail out of the room. I found out 2 days later that I needed to dail 0 three times. That was not on the information sheet provided in the room. The hotel telephone was not answered and went directly to voice mail. Normally, this would not be an issue for me, but my grandson was born while I was there, and I did not find out about it until 2 days after his birth when they let me check my email on the hotel's computer. They were very gracious to let me use their computer. But other than this exception, I found the hotel to be very clean and a convenient location to the train and bus stations. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly and professional. I was very happy with my stay and would recommend this hotel to my friends.

A wonderful small hotel in a very convenient location near the town center. The rooms were excellent and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was excellent as well.
We would definitely stay there again.

Small friendly B&B on a nice quiet street near Piazzale Roma and the train station. The courtyard views from our room were an unexpected bonus. Nicolo provided us a warm welcome, good map and helpful suggestions for touring Venice. It was the perfect place to stay for our two-day visit.
